Notes Miss Jennie Reiffarth is the oldest member of the company. She is German by birth, and there is scarcely a theatre in America that she has not played in. She has performed in comic opera as, well as tragedy; in fact, until her voice gave out, she was most successful in the former. She was the original Buttercup in the American production of 'H.M.S. Pinafore.' She has also supported many big stars visiting the States, among them being Modjeska, the tragedienne, and the thoroughness and artistic grace with which, according to critics, she plays Madame Vinard in 'Trilby' proves her to be a highly accomplished actress.
