| Description |
Each year somewhere in an industrial wasteland in Osaka, Yukichi Matsumoto and his young team build an open air theatre, a set out of recycled materials, and make a show. Theirs is total dedication - they sleep in the structure while they make the show, they all contribute in the building, and what results is a massive and intricate setting for an urban fantasy played in Jan Jan Opera style. You don't have to speak Japanese: the songs are in syllabic gibberish to a musical accompaniment of ultra funk. In trying to describe the kinds of sets they construct it's best to think along the lines |
