Description |
A unique artistic collaboration led by composer Jonathan Mills, converts a powerful classic of Australian literature into operatic form. The Ghost Wife takes as its source Barbara Banyton's chilling turn of the century story The Chosen Vessel. A short work transcending its own era, the story has been reworked into poetic dialogue by Australian poet Dorothy Porter. Jonathan Mills has collaborated with Neil McLachlan, one of Australia's most distinctive experimenters of new instrument and acoustic design to create a score that is both imaginative and moving.
