PUNCTURE uses a score drawn from the history of western song from Monteverdi to Radiohead to explore the rituals of courtship and young love. PUNCTURE is set in the present, at a party, a gathering where young people explore the various nuances of social discourse. The preening, the social groupings, the entrances and exits, the dances, the etiquette of flirting. The sound track of the party is provided by the 40 voices of VOX choir singing songs about love penned by some of the great composers from the history of song. |
