| Description |
Following the death of his father, young William McIvor and his mother Veronica are taken in by Will's uncle John at Kuran Station. John grew up there, son of the station master. His proposal to the owner's daughter Elizabeth rejected, John has spent his life working to buy back the now-decrepit property that is the one place he truly knows. The encounter with would-be heir Will is the catalyst for flashbacks that tell how John's present tenure at Kuran came about and what it cost him. Epic in scope, The White Earth moves between 1992 and McIvor's antipathy for the incoming native title legis |
