| Description |
Interrogating why we go to war, these two linked plays by Canadian performance makers Evan Webber & Frank Cox-O’Connell set out to re-define ‘theatre of war’.
The soldiers are actors, the actors are objects, and the chorus is the audience. Two friends talk on skype. One’s a soldier going to Afghanistan, and one’s Evan, who wants them to make a play together. One performer is live, the other one isn’t. Ajax is set in the past where two Greek soldiers watch a tragedy about their lives. Ajax and Little Iliad consider the contemporary relationship between art and war. |
