Two performances. A Nativity play, 'The Cradle of the Dove’, required a special dispensation from the Bishop. Highton's three-week old granddaughter Gaynor played the baby Jesus. The play was in verse, and incorporated singing and dance, and was accompanied by songs from the Oxford Book of Carols and anthems from the Book of Common Prayer. |
