Description Artistic Director, Nitin Sawhney, one of Britain's most original and gifted music creators, along with producers Debra King and Jeremy Davies present Aftershock, a festival that explores the musical culture of a host city by sourcing and showcasing its new, exciting and emerging musicians. The festival's core is an unconventional week-long music workshop that brings together three Australian musicians, Alies Sluiter (violin), Tim Blake (cello) and Sunshine (vocals) with 8-10 of the host city's up and coming musicians and artists to produce a unique showcase event that incorporates music, film and multimedia.

To launch the festival, the extraordinary Nitin Sawhney Sound System joins forces with the host city's best club artists (DJ's, poets, rappers, and singers) for a club night with a difference.

This remarkable 7-10 day festival of music, film, multimedia and discussion incorporates club nights, concerts, screenings and an intensive workshop program that connects the musical and artists hub at The Sage, Gateshead.
