World-renowned choreographer Jirí Kylián refers to Un Ballo as 'a dance to music, nothing more - an exercise in musicality and sensitivity between male and female partners'. Created while Kylián was Artistic Director of Nederlands Dans Theater, this beautiful staple of the contemporary ballet repertoire is presented for the first time in Australia. This summer's program also features: the world premiere of new choreography by Ivan Cavallari, set to the bravura strains of Maria Callas; as well as Uwe Scholz's masterpiece, Seventh Symphony, featuring sublime choreography to Beethoven's immortal |
