Description |
One of Chekhov's earliest plays, originally performed in proscenium arch theatres with fully furnished sets. This production of the Chekhov farce used height for the many entries and exits in response to the high ceiling and steeply raked seating of the Blakiston Theatre. The use of height to enter and exit in a dazzling variety of ways, gave tension and spectacle to an otherwise straightforward olay. A double bill with 'The Woman Who Died For Her Husband'. |
