Catherine has become the cornerstone on which has been built the edifice of her widowed mother's life for 20 years. Bryce Anset, whom she turned down, has returned as a widower. She agrees to marry him. But the rest of the family refuse to take their mother. Bryce must leave for overseas without her. The door is irrevocably closed on Catherine. |
