Description Ten female inmates of Fremantle Lunatic Asylum, accompanied by the Superintendent and Matron, were given a picnic at Woodmans Point, near Fremantle WA, at which they sang and danced to music under a tree. This was the first picnic for Fremantle Asylum inmates, the intention being 'to benefit [the inmates] physically and mentally'.
