| Description | ">Synapse< will be in residence on the exhibition floor of The Performance Space to consolidate and continue to plan it's future projects which are concerned with cultural imperatives, change and exchange. To that end, during regular gallery hours, groups and individuals will be invited to join a selection of members and others for the pleasure of their company and conversation, over formal and informal refreshments. An open brief surrounds this active social core, and it is expected to develop more material for the next issue of >GAP<, the >Synapse< publication, and initiate other ventures.
They will develop and reappraise the evolving concerns of Chimera, the international artists symposium convened by >Synapse< at the Goethe Institut during February 1995, and >GAP< will feature a section profiling feral and site-less artists and organisations in Australia which are forging other areas of practice. D.O.T.S. will be an opportunity to catch up on the changing shape of all our ‘chimeras’, to activate the ‘gap’, join in conversation, and have a nice cup of tea." |
