Description "Art Hotline is a group of artists and an electronic information source which provides access to weekly one day shows taking place at a range of temporary venues around Sydney.

There have been up to 25 artists involved in Art Hotline, most of whom participated in the first group show, Launch, at the Bond Store on 7 November 1992.

The work ranges from installation through object based work to performance. Each of the weekly shows since the first event have been one person or small group shows at non-gallery sites like warehouses, street corners, electronic spaces, office buildings and shopfronts. Art Hotline has explored a borderline between between public venues and isolated spaces- the politics of viewing art inside and outside the white cube: what kind of work is produced for a non-gallery site? What kind of audience is generated and how is it received?

This exhibition involves a collaboration in the gallery as well as one day solo exhibitions at public and private venues in the inner city. A limited edition publication documenting the activities of the group between 1992 will be launched on opening night."
