| Description |
MAX GILLIES has his hands full mounting an opera production starring not one, but two Australian Divas - Dame Nellie Melba and her protégée Miss Gertrude Johnson. Besieged by the usual financial and sponsorship problems, he strikes deals to appease the Divas, and ramp up the publicity. Stuck in the middle is the matinée idol tenor, earning extra cash on the side as co-producer. A bit of fun - think Bialystok and Bloom fused with Mozartian brilliance. There are bound to be surprises. |
