| Description |
A ballad concert was held on the s.s. Bullarra, whilst on her trip from Bunbury to Fremantle on Thursday night. The entertainment was held in aid of the orphans of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maxwell, who were drowned near the coal bulk at Albany. The organisers of the concert were Captain Anthon, the popular master of the Bullarra, and Captain Laurie, Marine Superintendent of the A.S.S. Company, at Fremantle, and the chief contributors to the entertainment were the members of Mr. W. H. Manning's Grand Opera Company. A good sum was realised from the concert, and was handed to Captain Laurie. |
