Description |
“Several new performers appeared on Saturday at the Alhambra, the house being full at the matinee, and crowded at night. Francis E. Curran and company made their first appearance. Mr. Curran Is billed as the world's greatest monopede athlete, and, by his performance on Saturday, he well deserves the title. Feats of skill and agility, which, to an ordinary performer, would be considered difficult, are accomplished by Curran with the greatest ease, and, handicapped as he is by the loss of his left leg. It is something marvellous to see the skill and daring with which he works. Curran does more with one leg than the majority of acrobats can do with two. During the act, he is ably assisted by Miss May Voegtier, who is also, an acrobat of no mean order. The setting and apparatus are unique, and of a most tasteful design, and the act is a distinct novelty, and should be a big draw, this week at the Alhambra.” |
