Description Kicker Thompson is a courageous, fun-loving farm kid. The only thing he loves more than the farm, is footy. Every afternoon, he tears around the back paddock imagining he’s kicking goals at the MCG! Day and night, he dreams of becoming an AFL player. But then, one day, when he is just eight years old, while on a trip to the city, Kicker experiences ‘the thing’. He is terrified. He thinks he’s going to die. Kicker tells no-one about ‘the thing’ but hopes that, if he just stays away from the city, he will somehow be safe. Quickly, however, Kicker realises that not being able to go to the city
