Description Eleanor and Mary Alice is about war, human rights and art, and the influential Eleanor Roosevelt and artist, Mary Alice Evatt. Eleanor visits Australia in 1943 flying across the Japanese patrolled Pacific. The two women meet again in Paris in 1948 when Eleanor is chairing the UN Committee developing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Dr Herbert Evatt is the first President of the UN General Assembly.
