| Description |
A new full-length ballet by New Zealand choreographer, Gray Veredon, receives its world premiere at this year's Festival. Drawing on colourful Oriental influences, full of passion, imagination and humor, 1001 Nights is set to Rimsky-Korsakov's lush exotic music and based on a classic of the storyteller's art, Tales of the Arabian Nights. Sometimes violent, always vivid and compelling, these tales of revenge, love, life and death have been brilliantly translated into a new masterpiece for dance. |
