Description | The play is a strange kind of duet. Even though only one character, Mrs X, speaks, she is answered by the silences and reactions of the other, Miss Y, whom she calls Millie.
They are rivals professionally and romantically. Both women are actors and both are in love with the one man, the director of an important theatre company. The play is a study of jealousy, possession and power. |
