Description This sparkling comedy was the smash-hit success that established Terence Rattigan as €˜one of the supreme dramatists of the 20th century.€™ The play was an enormous €“ and unexpected success on its premiere at the Criterion Theatre, London, where it premiered in 1936 with Rex Harrison, Trevor Howard and Jessica Tandy in the cast. Historically, the comedy is interesting and has depth, as it is a sunny look at the youth of a generation soon to fight World War II. The action passes in the living room at '€˜Miramar'€™, a villa in a small seaside town on the west coast of France in the 1930s.
