Description Pierre de Marivaux's 1725 social farce L’Île des esclaves is partly improvised, freely adapted and disrespectfully deranged into the tropical haven of Great Island. A paradise where idiots run the world and the palm trees are inflatable. Two servants, two masters, one seditious experiment: it's a farce, you know what's coming, except with a lot more sex, violence and Heart of Darkness than your average island getaway.
