| Description |
To aid sufferers in China, the Lei-Fan Club organised a successful cabaret ball at the Hotel Australia. About 200 dancers were present. Cabaret turns were given by Miss Ella Shields and Mr Bob Parish courtesy of the Tivoli Theatre, Miss June Graham, Miss Peggy Finkelstein, Mr Harry Vines and Mr Harry Lazarus. Special guests included Sir Stanley and Lady Argyle, the Consul for Czechoslovakia (Mr E. H. Peacock) and Mrs Peacock, the Vice-consul for Greece, Mr Nicolades and Mrs Nicolades, Judge and Mrs A. W. Foster, and the acting Consul for Norway Mr Schreuder and Mrs Schreuder. |
