The first modern Chinese opera performed by the Chinese dramatic club of an overseas liner was seen by one thousand members of Sydney's Chinese community. Called "Hor Leen Chow How Seen", interpreted this meant: "In the Winter a Man Need No Friends but, in Summer - Perhaps." A member of the cast staid the story was called "The Tragedy of a Blind Marriage." It told of a young man married by his parents to a girl he didn't love, and his love for another. |
