Lady Previous Stream takes us back to the China of long ago. it is indeed a traditional play of the Chinese, and was modernised for use in the London Theatre by the English-speaking S. I. Hsiung. During 1935 and 1936 it ran several hundred performances at the London Little Theatre, and was later done by numerous groups all over the English-speaking world. Primarily, the story is of Precious Stream, youngest of the three daughters of the Prime Minister, Wang Yun. |
