Two plays from a cycle of three, by Gabriel Parnell, based on ancient Eastern wisdom, will be given at the Union Theatre, Melbourne University on Saturday. The first is a Chinese love story containing saying of Confucius and Lao Tse. Chinese clothes lent by the Chinese Association of Bendigo, will be used, and the play will be acted without properties in the style of "Lady Precious Stream". The second, which is Persian, is based on the saying and life of Omar Khayyam, who will be played by Pete O'Shaughnessy. |
