It's the summer of 1993 at the Thamesmead Estate, southeast London. Jamie and his mother Sandra are at loggerheads. Jamie won't go to school, Sandra can't make him, or her new boyfriend Tony, do anything she wants them to do. Leah, who lives next door, won't stop blaring Mama Cass at any hour of the day, and their other neighbour Ste, well, he's just trying to figure out how not to burn the tea and get through each day safely. But when Jamie and Ste realise there's something more between them "than just friends", this realisation will change the estate's residents forever. |
