The play opens in a lush tropical rainforest where intrepid zoo officials capture a rat monkey, a creatre so malevolent its bite transforms its victims into zombies. So dangerous are they that they can only be halted in their appalling depredations by their limbs being severed in an orgy of bloodletting. Cut to a suburban 1950s New Zealand living room, home of nerdish Lionel and his large and indomitable mother Vera…. Based on Peter Jackson's comic horror film Braindead. |
