| Description |
Set in a bush-clad nineteenth-century colonial New Zealand, complete with a ride-on moa….The set and costume designs drew as much on Lewis Carroll and the Victorian playground as from our colonial and natural heritage. A swing bridge straddled a ponga-dotted glade where green doors with brass knobs offered access and egress through greywacke cliffs and the forest floor. A puppet rabbit nibbled, a lord rode the bridled moa and Audrey and William were tangata whenua. … Most of the actors adopted British regional accents. |
