					| Description |
As we waited outside the college gymnasium, a large group of morris dancers performed, a page carrying a long trumpet walked solemnly up and down, then on the roof a trumpeter summoned us to enter….[the audience moved] from the gymnasium to the banks of the Water of Leith, which runs thorugh North Dunedin, to the college auditorium. Music, dance and words provided the momentum, and the colours ranged from conventional costumes of white tutus and gauze wings to bizarre outfits made of hats and handbags and gaudy banners. |
