Description Scene description, Act III: Prison life.View of Corporation Row. A London fog: time, 4pm. The explosion (depicting the blowing up of the walls of Clerkenwell Prison by Socialists). NB This scene is founded on the notorious action of supposed Fenians, in attempting, a few years ago, the release of certain political prisoners from Clerkenwell Prison.
