| Description |
Director Cathy Downes is testing the timelessness of Oscar Wilde's 1892 opinion that the world has grown suspicious of anything that looks like a happy married life by setting Circa Theatre's production of Lady Windermere's Fan in Karori in the 1950s. 'New Zealand in the 1950s is more relevant to us than England in the 1890s, but also extraordinarily similar,' Downes says. |
