| Description |
Director Elric Hooper, who has twice directed this opera, said he had chosen to draw on aspects of Japanese theatre to recreate Puccini's work. 'The hanimichi audience walk-way and kurogo black-clad stage hands, the use of symbolic artifices to portray love and death, could be most useful to tell afresh this universal story,' he said in a statement. |
