As this will be an Aotearoa/New Zealand-Irish version of the piece, reference will be made to the early Irish settlers in New Zealand and the piece will be performed not in stage 'Oirish' accents but in the New Zealand accents of the cast members. The production will use music, song, dance, movement, chant and the imagery and athleticism of physical theatre to explore the poetry of the world Synge presents. |
