Adapted by David Armstrong. In this version, the soldier is a down-at-the heel travelling salesman and the devil a suave and handsome yuppie offering advance information on the Barclays Index. The soldier parts with his violin (ie soul) in exchange for worldly goods and selling timeshares in Tauranga. |
