Description Full title: 'Fragments from a Prelude to an Opera'. 'Fragments' is the third work in a trilogy of works about growing up. 'An Overcoat' - the artist as a young boy - and 'Paper Ladders' - the young man taking his first steps into the world - premiered at the Artrage Festival in Perth and played seasons in Auckland at the Maidment and Aotea Centre. 'An Overcoat' toured to China, Japan and Korea as part of the Australia to the World programme during the bicentennial year. In 'Fragments', the stage is littered with furniture, the baggage and accumulated junk we surround ourselves with in life. Wilson weaves a surreal journey of mid life crisis and beyond through the clever use of puppetry, dance, objects and music. Presented with humour and pathos. Wilson has worked with Nik Blake and Lynne Pringle to create this new work.
