The great eccentric comedy, the funniest of funny plays. (Ad) A young married couple, just recovering from their honeymoon, have engaged two servants. The announcements appear for a single female and single butler. A married couple obtain the situation, keeping their marriage a secret from their master and mistress. Their only child they leave out to nurse, but upon hearing of its illness, they smuggle it into the house. Their mistress is in league with her uncle to introduce a pug dog into the house, notwithstanding her husband's aversion to pugs. Between the child and the pug arises a series of mistakes and complications which throw the audience into one continual fit of prolonged laughter…. |
