| Description |
Imagine a low-comedy father, with a giddy young dog of a son; an Irish sporting captain with a 'brogue' neat enough to frame and hang up, and a distractingly pretty wife; a deliciously funny tutor; a young 'hired girl' of prepossessing appearance; two or three other girls more or less bewitching, and several other minor characters, all good in their way. Make every fellow fall in love with every other fellow's wife, and every fellow's wife fall in love with somebody else's husband. Mix them all up together, and you may get some faint idea of the fun of Betsy. |
