| Description |
'Or, the Vicissitudes of a Servant Girl'. (Ad) The plot is of the usual character with these kind of pieces - misfortunes to the poor and distressed, success to the rich and blasé, combats with highwaymen, murders, lost wills, ghosts, forced marriages, abandonment to despair and at the last moment the lover rushing in, the guilty punished and virtue triumphantly rewarded. Throughout the whole piece the incidents are of the most startling nature, following thick and fast on each others' heels till the final denouement, when the curtain falls and every one is made happy. |
