Description Set in 1764 France, during the reign of Louis XV, when the intrigues of the factions of the Queen on the one hand, and Madame de Pompadour on the other, were agitating the court. (From review) The popular play written expressly for Herr and Mrs Bandmann, and performed by them over 300 nights.
