Description The opera tells the story of Hohepa Te Umuroa and takes place in Wellington, the Hutt Valley, and Tasmania in the 1840s, and in Tasmania and the Whanganui River in 1988 It is the true story of the friendship between a Maori chief and a Pakeha settler during the New Zealand Wars.
