| Description |
Susan and God is a tale of a woman who, blind to her own imperfections and unable to make a success of her own marital affairs, embraces a religious movement of the emotional type and immediately sets about ordering the domestic affairs of her friends, who are at first both incensed and amused by her hypocrisy. Although it is patent to all that she is adopting a pose, and that her inherent shallow selfishness is untouched by her pretended 'conversion,' her friends, several of whom are themselves facing domestic crises, take her insincere utterances seriously and order their lives accordingly. |
