| Description |
Using irony and over-the-top humour, [Astrid] destroys, very charmingly, everything from Uncle Sam to Catholicism (watch for her impression of Jesus, using only a towel and a beatific smile)…. Watching Astrid HAdad is like taking a pocket tour of Mexico. You get the passion and mournfulness, the surrealistic - her costumes are reminiscent of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera - the history and drama, the countryside and landmarks, the politics and possibly most importantly, the tequila. |
