Description The play takes its name from its setting, a lonely lighthouse cn Lake Michigan, where Charleston, a disillusioned former war correspondent, has sought isolation from the troubled world as a lighthouse keeper. On the wall is a tablet commemorating the loss of the ship Land o' Lakes, which foundered off Thunder Rock with ail hands in 1849. As a refuge from the present., Charleston creates in his mind the captain and six of the passengers mentioned in the log book.
