Arabian Nights derives its name from the experiences of the principal character, Arthur Hummingtop, at the moment a grass-widower, and who, after reading a volume of tho famous Eastern fairy stories, conceives the idea of having a 'night' himself. So he assumes as a disguise the beard of Khalifeh Harun Er-Rashid, and sallies forth for a stroll in the parkā¦. |

Proceeds donated to St Michael's Church building fund, Anderson's Bay. Gowns by Elsinore. A crude, though amusing, military sketch entitled Slipping' was given as a curtain-raiser. In this, Major Lampen was a soldier on sentry-go, Mrs Wilfrid Andrews an actress and 'the cause of the slip' (review, 24 October).
