| Description |
The play centres on Serafina Delle Rose, a stormy Sicilian seamstress who locks up her passion when her beloved husband, a truck driver, is killed. Denying life and virtually imprisoning her blossoming, 15-year-old daughter, Serafina begins to thaw when another Sicilian truck driver stumbles into her life. Described by Serafina as having the body of her dead husband and the face of a clown, Alvaro Mangiacavallo reawakens her body, allowing her to let go of her grief and reemerge into life. |
