| Description |
King Lear interpreted by an Indian dance company is an exciting concept especially when it is performed by a Kathakali group. The tragic tale is unfolded through a unique language of dance combined with song, percussion and movement of which eye and body movements are important features. The gestural style for dramatic work is strong, sharp and energetic, contrasting with the slower grace and delicacy of their 'pure' dance episodes. |
