French Guise takes inspiration from the extraordinary life of Julie d'Aubigny, a seventeenth century bisexual sword-fighting opera singer. A mix of Baroque and newly commissioned music, sword fighting and social commentary explores issues of gender and sexuality through the lens of Julie’s remarkable example.
