| Description |
"The Hungarian writer Odon Horvath was killed on the Champs-Elysees in 1938 when a branch of a tree under which he was sheltering fell on his head. In [this play] Christopher Hampton whimsically resurrects him, so that he can live on as an emigre in Los Angeles, where he observes his fellow European refugee writers washed up in the land of doughnuts, dentistry and divorce with nothing to declare but their genius". |
